Good Morning my Scrappy Friends!!! It is time for a new Challenge over at Getting Scrappy!!! This challenge was called "Sketchy" and we had to use a page sketch and here is the one that I used for this challenge:
Now I have a rolodex that I keep all this kind of "scrappy" stuff! I got this idea from Bona over at LiveLoveScrap and she, as I am sure you all know is amazing!  She has a vid on how to do this project. But now on to the layout I made using this sketch:

The cartridges that I used for this is Storybook for the boarders and butterflies.  The title, "Painted Lady" was cut with the Gypsy Font.  The papers I used was Bazzill, DCWV and Coordinations.

I hope you like the layout and head over to Getting Scrappy and enter your wonderful layouts!! Sending you all scrappy hugs!

Good Sunday Morning my scrappy friends! That is right, it is time for the Getting Scrappy Challenge!!! We are getting in the St. Paddy's mood with our challenge, which it titled "Color Me Lucky"  I love St. Patrick's and when I get to use new paper, it is always a great time in the scrappy place! Here is my layout:

I used the DCWV French Country Stack, which is so pretty!! I cut the shamrock's from the Paper Doll Dress up cartridge at 3 inches and the title is cut at 1 inch with Doodletype.  The dark green paper is from Club Scrap and white pen for the doodles and a Recollections flower.

Now remember my scrappy friends, you all need to head over to Amanda's blog: http://amandascraftsandmore.blogspot.com and enter the bi-weekly challenge!

Thanks for stoppin on by the scrappin place! As always, sending you all scrappy hugs!

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Who Care blog hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 2 of this very special hop. We have more fabulous projects for you. But the most important thing about this is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help a friend a fellow crafter, Liz Decade. Liz is battling 2 different forms of acute Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. We are hoping that this hop will help her to find a match. You can see her story at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va6RNwYj4BE&list=UUz-JkPSKRldHJNbbEotv8DQ&feature=plcp.

Even if you are not a match for Liz, you can still help her. You see bone marrow registrations drives are expensive, you have to pay for each person who is registered, and Liz is trying to raise money for bone marrow drives and medical expenses (it costs a lot of money to get a transplant). You can donate to Liz at lizquesada.leukemia@gmail.com. All of the money donated will go to bone marrow drives or medical expenses.

And we have some wonderful sponsors who have donated prizes for our hop.
Sweet Stamping Treats Digital Stamps, Trendy Twine, MB Treasurista, Paper Piecings by Nikki, Inspired Stamps, My Pink Stamper, Peachy Keen Stamps and Market Street Stamps have all donated prizes to this hop. In order to be eligible for one of these prizes you must comment on every blog in this hop! There are other requirements for the sponsors so please see Liz's blog post for more details.

If you are coming from Carla - http://racincrafts.blogspot.com/ blog you are on the right track. If you want to start from the beginning please go to Liz's blog (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com).

Here is my project for this hop:

I altered this balsa wood box for a friend of mine, as she needed a container to keep her meds in, but she did not want it to look like a pill container, so I covered the box with Graphic 45 Bonticella papers and she loved butterfly's, so I fussy cut the ones from the paper! : )  I also mod podged the box, which made it stronger, so she could put it in her purse.

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor. Your next stop is Beckie's blog at http://justbcreativecrazy.blogspot.com

It is Thursday!!! Welcome to the Scrappin Place!  Well it has been a long time since I posted!  As some of my scrappy friends know, I am now employed full time and I while I enjoy it, it has cut into my scrappy time!!! I will get this figured out!  Now I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Hubby got me a card and some chocolate!!! Yummy!!! Now here is the card I made for him, which he said he really liked:

I used some red cardstock from my scrappin stash, the Be Mine paper stack from DCWV, the stamp is Tattered Angels, white ink and white embossing powder.  I do like the way this card turned out, because as you all know, my scrappy friends, I am not the best at making cards!

Stay tuned to the Scrappin Place, this weekend there is a blog hop for my friend Liz and of course a new Challenge over at Getting Scrappy!!! Can't wait to see what all of you come up with for the Challenge!

Sending you all scrappy hugs!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday my scrappy friends!! Welcome to another Getting Scrappy Challenge!  Our challenge this time is "Love of Chocolate"  Now, I love, love and love chocolate!  But being the person who is always the one taking the pictures, I had to figure out what pics to use, as I have only had one layout with pics! So, here is my take on "Love of Chocolate"

My hubby and son always get the Chocolate covered Mickey Mouse Ice cream when we go to Disneyland and this time I was able to get pictures of them eating them!  I used Doodlecharm for all of the hearts on this layout.  I glued lace to the back then put the heart on pink cardstock.  For the title, I used the Gypsy Font, that I welded together and of course had to use the Mickey and Friends Font for the Mickey Mouse.  Now the paper that I used was given to me by our wonderful leader, Amanda along with the buttons that I used as well.  I also used our wonderful sponsor - Joy from Joy's Life stamps and let me tell you these stamps are just wonderful!!!! Thank you Joy!!!! Daddy and Robby are the perfect "pear" to me : )

Thanks for stoping by the scrappin place and I am sending you all scrappy hugs!

Hello my scrappy friends! Well I have been busy in the Scrappin Place! I like that kind of busy! I am sure all of you do too!  Here is a layout that I made, which I was going to enter for a DT tryout, but I had my dates confused, so I look at it as another layout down, many more to be made.  LOL!

The inspiration for this layout was based on a toy, which had lots of the primary colors, it was almost like a tinker toy.  Well, once I saw this toy, I knew exactly what pictures to use and what paper! I used the Bo Bunny Blast Off line, which was the only choice in my mind for the pictures! : )  I cut the title with my Cricut using the Cutting Up cartridge.  The circles were cut from PlantinSchool Book and the tails were actually cut using Superman cartridge and I attached the circles over the stars of the cut that I used.  The letters needed some sparkle, so I used Yellow Stickles.  I also used Star Dust Stickles on some of the circles and stars on the paper.  All of the edges were inked with Blue Iris ColorBox Chalk Ink.

Hope you all like the layout and do not forget, we have a Challenge still going on at Getting Scrappy at Amanda's blog and here is the link: http://amandascraftsandmore.blogspot.com/2012/01/getting-scrappy-challenge_22.html  So get your winter layouts posted over there!  Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Sending you scrappy hugs,

Monday, January 23, 2012

Well here it is, Monday!  Here at the Scrappin Place, I have still been working on several challenges and other crafty things.  I am a member of the Ning site, Creating the Crafty Life and there are several challenges every week over on this site, besides great crafty friends!  Here is the layout that I made for the challenge over at CCL:

Yes, I know, more wedding pictures! I think my wedding album is going to be a non-ending project.  I used the DCWV Formal Affair stack.  All of the cuts were made with my Cricut, using the Gypsy Wandering and PlantinSchool cartridges.  Black Soot distress ink was used on the edges and the ribbon is from my stash.  The journaling card is a scrap from my cuts and the roses on it were from IAR.

Well my scrappy friends, I hope you like the layout and come on over to Creating the Crafty Life! We have a great time scrappin over there!

Sending you all scrappy hugs,
T

Good Sunday Morning my scrappy friends! That is right, it is time for the Getting Scrappy Design Team Challenge!!!! The title this week of our challenge is "Flurries of Fun" which is a winter themed layout.
Now, here in California, we are now just getting some wet weather, which has kinda put a damper on getting my usual snowy, wintery type of pictures.  But we are now having some storms come in and hopefully the snow will fall!  Now here is my layout:

Snow falls where my husband works and so he usually has the truck loaded with snow that he brings home for our son and his friends to play with.  I used the Bo Bunny Snowfall collection and the truck is from the Everyday Paperdolls, which I cut at 5" with DCWV paper.  The snow in the back is actually clouds, which I cut at 4" with my Winnie the Pooh cartridge and ran it through my Cuttlebug, using the "Swirls" embossing folder.  The title, "Truckin Snow" was cut at 1.5" with the Doodletype cartridge.

Please head over to Amanda's Blog, http://amandascraftsandmore.blogspot.com/ to see what the rest of the design team has made to inspire you with this time!

Sending you scrappy hugs!

Happy Scrappy Saturday my scrappy friends! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned.  Here at the Scrappin Place, I have another challenge that I completed Sketchabilities site, which you all should go take a look and here is the link: http://www.sketchabilities.blogspot.com/  They have wonderful sketch designers over on their site and the layouts that these scrappy people come up with will inspire! Trust me on this one!  Here is the layout that I came up with for this week:

My son, Robby took this picture of his bare feet and I only thought it was fitting to do a layout!  I used some paper from my stash for the background.  For the embellies, I used my Accent Essentials cartridge and cut them at 5" with Core'dinations card stock.  The hearts were cut using the Sweetheart cartridge and those were cut at 1".  The title "Tooties" was cut at 1.5" and I used the All Mixed Up cartridge.  I painted the hearts with yellow watercolor paints, which I mixed with Iridescent Medium, which gave them a sparkle.

Now all of my scrappy friends, come back tomorrow for the Getting Scrappy Design Team Challenge! I know you will all enjoy the challenge this week! I know that I did!

Sending you scrappy hugs,
T

Friday, January 20, 2012

See, I told you, my scrappy friends, I was not done with my posts today!  Here is a challenge that I completed for the Scrappy Moms Tuesday Challenge.  The Challenge was to use some type of cartoon character.  Now, to my upset, my Mickey & Friends cartridge is not working!!! So, I used another fav of mine, Winnie the Pooh!
For this layout, I cut the background Winnie at 11" and the other one at 4" on my Cricut.  The Hunny Pot I cut at 3"  The frame around the picture was cut at 7" and is the perfect size for a 4 x 6 picture.  I then used my white gel pen to accent the frame and used the piece from the frame cut out for the journaling.  Brown Studio G Glitter glue completes Robby's name.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and got to use my Winnnie and Friends cartridge for the first time and I will be using it again for sure!

Sending you all scrappy hugs,
T
Happy Friday my scrappy friends!!! Today it is raining here in Cali, but we needed it bad!!!  Hope that you all have a great week of scrappin, I know that I did! Here is a project that I made for a challenge over at Let's Capture These Sketches site!  You all should go over and take a look at this sketch site!  They have sketches for both layouts and cards!  I am going to give their card sketch a try!  Here is the layout that I made for with their sketch for this week:

These are pictures of my son, Robby and his buddy Katy.  These were taken at one of those photo booths and I just had to get them on a layout! The paper is from Fancy Pants from out of my stash and I used a paper dollie, lace, pink ribbon and buttons to complete the layout.  The word buddies are alpha stickers from Webster's Pages.

I will be posting more in a few hours, as I have been doing challenges gallore!  I must admit, it helps to do these challenges, as I am getting more photos on paper! Love it!

See you soon my scrappy friends and do not forget, the Getting Scrappy Design Team will be posting a new challenge, so I hope you will all be back this weekend to see the layouts and participate in the challenge!

Sending you all scrappy hugs,

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's Winter & Snow Blog Hop!
You should have come from Jessica's
If you have come here by mistake please start at the begining http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

I decided to create two cards for this particular hop, as I am attempting to make more cards with my Cricut.

This card was cut from the Winter Frolic Cartridge and I welded the background together on my Gypsy to make the card.  I cut the Warm Winter Wishes at 3 inches and used Stickles on the word Winter.

This card I used the Snowfriends Cartridge and cut the snowman out at 3.5 inches and used a Peachy Keen Snowman face stamp, which I had not had the opportunity to use yet.  I can guarantee that I will be pulling my Peachy Stamps out more!  I ran the card through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Good Morning! It is going to be a busy weekend here at the Scrappin Place!  There are two blog hops that I am going to be participating in and I hope that all of you hop on by this weekend!!!

I have been crafting away here and I decided to do the layout challenge over at Bo Bunny, which is one of my favorite paper companies!!! My local scrapbooking store knows exactly what I want when I walk through their door!

Here is my take on their challenge:

I used the Bo Bunny Liberty Line and in the picture that Bo Bunny wanted you to use for inspiration, there was a quilt on the bed and a ball.  So I took my cue from those items in the room.  I cut triangles out and taped them to the pictures for the photo mounts.  I distressed all of the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink, which has been a fav of mine lately, fussy cut the main part of the layout and then placed it on the paper.

I also altered an old frame that I had a picture of myself in, which I felt needed some updating:

I painted the frame with gesso and white paint.  I then took Moonlight Glimmer Mist and washed it on the frame.  I also used Graphic 45 papers to cover the photo mat and also washed on the Moonlight Glimmer Mist.  I took IAR roses and painted them with Pink Ink Glimmer Mist.  The crowns are Tim Holtz Grunge Board, which I used Sapphire Glimmer Mist and Skittles.

I hope you all have enjoyed my creations and I hope you all stop by this weekend for the Valentines for Kids with Cancer Hop and the Winter & Snow Hop!!!

Sending you Scrappy Hugs!

Good Scrappy Morning! Here in the Scrappin Place, I have been scrappin away on layouts, as you all can see by my previous post!  Well, here is another layout that I have made for the challenge over at My Creative Time.  You all should go and take a look at Emma's blog, she has some wonderful tutorials, really neat stamp and die sets, which I have been eyeing for a long time....

For Emma's challenge, you have to use a sports theme and use your cricut.  The football photo corners and the football player are cut from Everyday Paperdolls cartridge.  For the journaling spot, I used my Gypsy to weld a football helmet together, which turned out really cool for a journaling spot.  The letters are from the Mickey's Font cartridge.  The paper used for the layout is from my "football" paper stash.  I still have to scrap Kieth's High School Football pics!

I also wanted to show all my scrappy friends, that I have a scrapping buddy in the scrappin place:

That is right my scrappy friends, this is my buddy, Bella and she hangs out with me all day in the scrappin place, thinking that she is helping with my scrappin!  When she jumped up on the desk, I just had to snap a few pics.  I do think she needs a bling collar, don't all of you think so?!?!

Don't forget to head over to Amanda's blog and enter the challenge for the Getting Scrappy Design Team Challenge!

Sending you all scrappy hugs,
T
